Allen’s Haunted Hayride

Allen’s Haunted Hayride is at 2434 Pittsburgh Road in Smock, on Route 666 in Fayette County. Two brothers, Richard and Ronald Allen, started the wagon in October 1979 with the Uniontown Jaycees. The ride is a tractor and a straw wagon through a stretch of woods, a barn, and the fields, about a mile, past a family cemetery and a church they built for the show. The phone is 724-677-2589.

The building that is now the Tavern of Terror used to be the farm’s dairy store, then a bar. It became the walk-through haunt in 2015. The hayride and the tavern are separate tickets. Campfires on the hill can be reserved. The nights are the ones they listed: September 18, 19, 25, and 26, then October 2 and 3, 9 and 10, 16 and 17, 22 through 24, and 29 through 31.
